How Can headache Along With Congestion be Treated?

I have had runny nose, congestion and headaches (i m assuming from my sinuses) since 12/29/16. I thought it was getting better and going away, but this past Sunday through today it has been getting worse and I m very congested again today. I m not sure if I still need to let it run its course or to do something because it might be more of an issue.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello my name is dr Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.Your symtoms are related to sinusitis.Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses. Healthy sinuses are filled with air. But when they become blocked and filled with fluid, germs can grow and cause an infection.Acute sinusitis usually starts with coldlike symptoms such as a runny, stuffy nose and facial pain. It may start suddenly and last 2-4 weeks.
Subacute sinus inflammation usually lasts 4 to 12 weeks.
Chronic inflammation symptoms last 12 weeks or longer. So you are in the stad of subate sinusitis. Some treatment include:
-decongestant and saline nasal washessuch as naphazoline. You shouldn’t use a decongestant more than 3 days, though, because it can make you more congested.
-antibiotics such as augmentin 625 mg for 14 days,
2 tb for day 2 hours after the meal
-Warm, moist air may help. You can use a vaporizer, or you can inhale steam from a pan of warm water. Make sure the water isn't too hot.
Hope my answer was helpful,thanks!
